Overview
The Leneta Opacity Chart Form 10A and Form 10B are two types of Checkerboard test strips with dimensions of 140 x 254mm and 289 x 194mm respectively. The surface is sealed and has good water resistance. It is specially designed for hiding power test experiments in paints, paints and other industries. It is a common high-end imported consumable in laboratories. Products are strictly produced in accordance with ASTM and D4941 standards.
Features
1. The United States imports high-end products with reliable quality.
2. The surface is sealed and has good water resistance.
3. Produce and design in strict accordance with ASTM and D4941 standards.
4. Two models (Form 10A/10B) are available to meet different testing requirements.
5. It is an ideal consumable for hiding power testing in coatings, paints and other industries.
Principle
The Opacity Chart provides a standard contrast background for paint hiding power testing through the Checkerboard pattern on its surface. During the test, the paint is evenly Spreader on the paper, and after drying, the degree of covering of the paint on the underlying Checkerboard is evaluated by instrument or vision. The hiding power (hiding ratio) is calculated as: Y black/Y white * 100%, where 100% means complete covering, and the black and white areas are not different after filming.
Applications
Paints, inks
Steps
1. Spreader paints and other paints evenly on the paints Opacity Chart according to the film steps.
2. After the film is fully dried by air, the instrument is used for objective evaluation.
3. The hiding power value can be measured and automatically displayed within 1 second.
Notice
* The paints Opacity Chart is not limited to the determination of the hiding power of paints and other paints. The corresponding hiding power test method can also be applied to the detection of the hiding ratio of transparent films and plastic products.
* Poor hiding power may be caused by improper lame plating methods, poor Illumination conditions, uneven mixing of paints or excessive polishing of the paint film.
* When repairing hidden power defects, sanding the defective area and then re-painting.
* Levelling and sag testing requires reference to ASTM D 4062 and D4400 standards, and the use of special equipment (such as levelling devices, anti-sag devices, specific scratch paper, etc.).
The rating of the flow and SAG tests is subjective and needs to be judged based on practical experience.
