Overview
LENETA Form WD Opacity Chart is a pure white sealed Opacity Chart designed to test the hiding power of paints, paints and other products. Its size is 98x152mm, each box of 1000 sheets, meets ASTM standards, and is widely used in paints, inks and other industries.
Features
1. Pure white surface sealed treatment, providing standard test background.
2. Meet ASTM standards to ensure the authority and comparability of test results.
3. Dimensions (98x152mm) are moderate, easy to operate and store.
4. 1000 sheets per box, Encasement quantity is large, to meet the needs of batch testing.
5. According to user big data, it is widely used in Marine, Aerospace, Mobile phone & digital products and biological industries.
Principle
The Opacity Chart is used to evaluate the hiding power of products such as paints. Spreader the paint evenly on a pure white test paper, and after drying, quantify the hiding power by measuring or comparing the degree to which the film covers the underlying white background. The hiding ratio (%) is calculated as: Y black/Y white * 100%, where 100% means complete covering.
Applications
Coatings, inks, Marine, Aerospace, Mobile phones & digital products, Bio
Steps
1. Spreader paints and other paints evenly on the Opacity Chart according to the film steps.
2. Wait for the film to be fully dried by air.
3. Using the instrument for objective evaluation, the hiding power value can be measured and automatically displayed within 1 second.
Notice
• Opacity Chart is not limited to the determination of hiding power of paints and other coatings, and the corresponding hiding power test method can also be applied to the detection of hiding ratio of transparent films and plastic products.
• Different paints formulations require test cardboard to have different anti-solubility, and the appropriate test cardboard type should be selected according to the solvent polarity.
When performing levelling or sag testing, it is necessary to strictly follow the corresponding ASTM standard methods (e.g. D 4062, D4400) and use the specified supporting equipment (e.g. levelling device, sag protector, specific scratch paper, etc.).
• Before testing, the coating should be fully stirred and adjusted to the specified temperature (such as 23 ° C), and if necessary, filtrate, adjust the viscosity and pre-shear treatment.
• Spreader process needs to maintain uniform speed (e.g. levelling test about 60 cm/s, sag test about 150 mm/s), and ensure that the test plate is drying horizontally.
• The rating process is subjective and needs to be compared with the standard board under appropriate lighting conditions, or the coefficient is estimated according to the degree of integration of the stripes to obtain a more accurate index.
