The hardness gauge works based on the Richter Hardness Measurement principle. The impact body is released to the surface of the tested material through the Impact device, and the ratio of the rebound speed of the impact body to the impact speed at a distance of 1mm from the surface of the sample is measured. The ratio is defined as the Richter Hardness value. The internal processor of the instrument converts this value into the common Miscellaneous Hardness standard (such as HRC, HB, HV, etc.) through the built-in algorithm according to the preset or automatically recognized material type and displays it.
