Overview
PUSHEN Ford viscosity cup (Ford cup) is a viscosity testing instrument produced according to ASTM D 1200 standard, used to determine the viscosity of coatings, paints, etc. The cup body is made of cathode aluminum oxide, and the outflow hole is made of brass material. According to the different outflow aperture, there are five models from No. 1 to No. 5. This model is Ford-3 #, equipped with a bracket for easy testing. Viscosity is determined by measuring the time required for a certain volume sample to flow out of the bottom hole.
Features
1. The cup mouth is designed with an annular groove to store the overflowing liquid.
2. Dimension design can be used with viscosity cup bracket.
3. The cup wall and outflow hole structure are easy to clean, without difficult to clean sinkage.
4. The production process has consistent quality control.
5. Each Ford viscosity cup is engraved with a unique serial number.
Principle
Ford viscosity cup calculates the viscosity value of the sample by measuring the time required for a certain volume (100 ml) of the sample in the aluminum cup to completely flow out of the bottom standard hole.
Applications
Viscosity testing of paints and other materials
Steps
1. Install the Ford viscosity cup on the matching bracket.
2. Make sure the cup is clean and drying.
3. Plug the bottom flow hole with your finger and pour the sample to be tested into the cup until it is full.
4. Remove your finger and start timing at the same time, recording the time it takes for the sample to completely flow out of the cup.
5. According to the outflow time, refer to the standard or conversion table to obtain the viscosity value.
Notice
• Before use, make sure that the cup body and flow hole are clean, drying, and free of residue.
• Keep the cup vertical and stable during testing.
• Ambient Temperature may affect results and is recommended under standard conditions.
• Different models of Ford viscosity cups correspond to different viscosity ranges and outflow times. Please choose the appropriate model according to the sample characteristics.
• It should be cleaned in time after use to avoid the sample drying up and blocking the flow hole.
