Overview
The JFL QXD 0-150 Grindometer (double-channel) is a test instrument for the determination of particle fineness such as pigments and impurities in Paints, paint slurry, and is designed to control product mass. The instrument is made of cemented carbide steel, which has good Abrasion Resistance and Hardness and is not easy to abrasion. Its range covers 0-25μm, 0-50μm, 0-100μm, 0-150μm, and is made in strict accordance with relevant standards.
Features
1. Made of hard alloy steel, wear-resistant and durable.
2. Double-channel design, the number of scraping grooves is 2.
3. The range covers 0-150 μm, with a Graduation of 10 μm.
4. Made in strict accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Chemical Industry's special Measurement Instrument verification regulations "Grindometer".
Principle
The Grindometer scrapes the surface of the groove by placing the sample to be tested in the groove of the scraper and using the matching drawdown blade at constant speed and pressure. The particles in the sample leave traces in the scale area of the groove, and the fineness of the sample can be determined by observing the scale value corresponding to the position where the particles appear.
Applications
It is used to measure the particle fineness of pigments and impurities in Paints and paint slurry, detect the fineness of dispersed products in the production and storage application process, and control the product mass
Standards
GB/T 1724-93、GB/T 13217.3-91
Steps
1. Grindometer and drawdown blade to ensure no residue.
2. Drop the sample to be tested into the groove of the scraper so that it fills the front end of the groove.
3. Hold the drawdown blade so that it is perpendicular to the surface of the scraper, and scrape the drawdown blade from the deep part of the groove to the shallow part at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure within 1-2 seconds.
4. After scraping the sample, immediately (no more than 5 seconds) place the scraper at an angle to the line of sight and observe the position where the particles in the groove are evenly exposed.
5. Read the scale value corresponding to this position, which is the fineness of the sample.
6. Sexual repeability measurement, take the average of two readings as the result.
7. Clean the instrument promptly after use.
Notice
• Before use, make sure that the scraper and drawdown blade are clean, drying and abrasion-free.
• The scraping operation needs to be stable and the speed is uniform to ensure the accuracy of the results.
• The reading should be completed within the specified time to avoid sample flow affecting the judgment.
• The instrument is a precision measuring tool and should be handled with care to avoid bumping.
• It should be cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately after use and properly stored.
