Overview
TR 5001/2 Single Face Cross Hatch Cutter is a tool for evaluating coating adhesion, commonly used for coating mass inspection and coating process control. It provides qualitative or semi-quantitative information on the bonding strength between the coating and the substrate by marking a series of lattice patterns on the coating surface and then evaluating the adhesion of the coating using an adhesive tape test. The product is made of wooden handle material and high-quality alloy steel blades. The tooth spacing is 1mm and the number of teeth is 11. It is suitable for hard substrates (metals) with film Film thickness < 60μm.
Features
1. Ergonomic handshake design, effortless to use
2. The blade can be easily replaced
3. Blade material: high-quality alloy steel
4. Blade top width: less than 0.05mm
5. Blade angle: 30 ° +/- 1 °
Principle
Adhesion Cross Hatch Cutter assesses the adhesion of coatings by drawing a series of lattice patterns on the surface of the coating, then covering the scratched area with tape using the appropriate tools, followed by quickly tearing off the tape. This is a simple, fast method for on-site testing during painting or coating studies and quality control in a laboratory environment.
Applications
Coating mass inspection, coating process control, coating research, quality control
Standards
GB/T 9286、ASTM D3359、ASTM D3002、ISO 2409
Steps
1. Draw a series of lattice patterns on the coating surface
2. Cover the scratched area with tape using the appropriate tool
Step 3 Remove the tape quickly
4. Evaluate coating adhesion
