Overview
TR 5001/4 Single Face Cross Hatch Cutter is a tool for evaluating coating adhesion, commonly used for coating mass inspection and coating process control. It provides qualitative or semi-quantitative information on the bonding strength between the coating and the substrate by marking a series of lattice patterns on the coating surface and then evaluating the adhesion of the coating using an adhesive tape test. The product is made of wooden handle material and high-quality alloy steel blades. The tooth spacing is 2mm and the number of teeth is 6. It is suitable for hard substrates with film thickness 61 μm~ 120 μm or soft substrates with film thickness < 120 μm (wood, plastic).

Principle
Adhesion Cross Hatch Cutter evaluates the adhesion of coatings by drawing a series of lattice patterns on the surface of the coating, then covering the scratched area with tape using the appropriate tools, followed by quickly tearing off the tape. This is a simple, fast method for on-site testing during painting, as well as for coating research and quality control in laboratory environments.
