Overview
TR 5001/5 Single Face Cross Hatch Cutter is a TRUIT brand tool for evaluating coating adhesion, suitable for coating mass inspection and coating process control. It can easily and quickly provide qualitative or semi-quantitative information on the bonding strength of coatings and substrates in a painting site or laboratory environment by drawing a lattice pattern on the coating surface and using tape testing to evaluate coating adhesion. This model is made of wooden handle material and high-quality alloy steel blades. The tooth spacing is 3mm and the number of teeth is 6. It is suitable for hard or soft substrates with film thickness 121μm~ 250μm.
Features
1. Ergonomic handshake design, effortless to use
2. The blade can be easily replaced
3. The blade material is high-quality alloy steel
4. The top width of the blade is less than 0.05mm.
5. The angle of the blade is 30 ° +/- 1 °
Principle
Adhesion Cross Hatch Cutter evaluates the adhesion of coatings by drawing a series of lattice patterns on the surface of the coating, then covering the scratch area with tape and quickly tearing it off. This method is based on testing the bonding strength of the coating to the substrate, and provides a qualitative or semi-quantitative analysis of the adhesion performance by observing the peeling of the coating in the scratch area.
Applications
Coating mass inspection, coating process control, laboratory coating research
Standards
GB/T 9286、ASTM D3359、ASTM D3002、ISO 2409
Steps
1. Use Cross Hatch Cutter to draw a grid pattern on the coating surface
Step 2 Cover the scratched area with tape
Step 3 Remove the tape quickly
4. Evaluate coating adhesion
