Overview
The PUSHEN ISO Cup (model ISO-3 #) is a Benchtop viscosity cup with a support, with a pore size of 3mm, made of anodic oxidation aluminum cup body and stainless steel nozzle. This product meets ASTM D 5125 and ISO 2431 standards and is a laboratory testing instrument for the measurement of viscosity of coatings, varnishes and similar products. Kinematic viscosity values are usually expressed in time to flow (seconds) and can be converted to centistokes (cSt) units.
Features
1. Using anodic oxidation aluminum cup body and stainless steel nozzle, sturdy and durable.
The design conforms to ASTM D 5125 and ISO 2431 standards.
3. Designed for Benchtop, it comes with a bracket for stable operation.
4. Provide a variety of aperture models (such as No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 8) to meet different viscosity measurement ranges (No. 8 needs to be customized).
Principle
The PUSHEN ISO cup is based on the measurement of fluid viscosity by gravity outflow method. Fill the viscosity cup with the sample to be tested, and under standard conditions, measure the time it takes for the sample to completely flow out of the standard aperture (e.g. 3mm) at the bottom of the cup. The outflow time is related to the kinematic viscosity of the sample, and the longer the time, the higher the viscosity is usually indicated. The measured number of seconds can directly represent the viscosity, and can also be converted into centistokes (cSt) units by conversion.
Applications
Coatings, varnishes and Miscellaneous similar products viscosity measurement
Standards
ASTM D 5125、ISO 2431
Steps
1. Prepare the sample to be tested and High Accuracy stopwatch.
2. Place the ISO cup stably on the countertop through the bracket.
3. Plug the flow hole at the bottom of the cup with your finger and fill the sample with the viscosity cup.
4. Quickly remove your finger and start the stopwatch at the same time.
5. Observe the sample outflow process, and immediately stop the stopwatch when the sample streamer is cut off for the first time.
6. Record the time (seconds) for the complete outflow of the sample.
7. The outflow time can be converted to centistokes (cSt) units by using a scaler as required.
Notice
• A stopwatch with high accuracy is required for measurement.
• The operation process needs to be quick and consistent to ensure accurate timing.
• After use, the viscosity cup should be cleaned in time to prevent the residue from clogging or corroding the flow hole.
• Please select the appropriate pore size model according to the estimated viscosity range of the tested sample (e.g. ISO-3 #is suitable for 7~ 42cSt).
