Overview
This machine is a conventional instrument for water Absorbency testing on paper and Cardboard surfaces, also known as paper surface absorption weight tester. This instrument uses the Cobb (Cobb) test method among various methods of absorption testing, so it is also called the Cobb absorbency tester. It is mainly used to determine the surface Water Absorbency of sizing paper and Cardboard including Corrugated Board. This instrument only measures the Water Absorbency of paper and Cardboard surfaces, but is not suitable for accurately evaluating the writing performance of paper or Cardboard.
Features
1. Surface Water Absorbency Determination by Cobb (Cobb) Test
2. Surface Water Absorbency Testing for Adhesive Paper, Cardboard and Corrugated Board
3. The inner section area of the metal cylinder is precisely 100 +/- 0.2cm ²
4. The height of the cylinder is 50mm, and the design is reasonable
5. Equipped with smooth metal flat roller, width 200 +/- 0.5mm, mass 10 +/- 0.5kg
Principle
The surface water absorption (Cobb) value of paper and Cardboard is defined as: the water absorbed by the surface of paper and Cardboard per unit area within a specified time under a certain pressure and temperature, in g/m2. The specific calculation formula is: C = (G2-G1) × 100, where C is the Cobb water absorption value, G2 is the sample mass after water absorption, and G1 is the sample mass before water absorption.
Applications
Adhesive Paper, Cardboard, Corrugated Board
Standards
ISO535—1991、GB/T1540—1989
Notice
• The contact part between the torus of the cylinder and the sample should be smooth
• When the single-layer weight of absorbent paper is less than 200~ 250 g/m2, multiple layers can be stacked to meet the requirements
• Environmental conditions should be within the range of 20~ 40 ° C
• Environmental conditions relative humidity should be less than 85%
