Overview
The Levelling Applicator is a special tool for testing the levelling performance of surface materials such as coatings, paints, and coatings. It is designed to simulate the leveling of coatings on application surfaces to evaluate surface mass and uniformity before coating drying. The QAG 250~ 4000 μm Levelling Applicator has a groove depth of 250-500-1000-2000-4000 μm and is made of S136 wear-resistant stainless steel with a total length of 120mm, which meets ASTM D2801 standards.
Features
1. The groove depth covers a wide range, providing a variety of depth options of 250, 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 μm.
2. Made of S136 wear-resistant stainless steel, it is sturdy and durable.
3. Overall length 120mm, compact design.
4. Conforms to ASTM D2801 standards, with reliable test results.
Principle
The Working Principle of the Levelling Applicator is based on the flowability of the coating on the construction surface. Spreader the coating on the horizontal or vertical surface and scrape 5 pairs of 10 coating marks of different depths. After the film is dried, observe the distance between the individual pairs of films, and select the minimum spacing of the film thickness as the levelling data. The instrument usually consists of a scale coating tank in which the paint is evenly applied on the test plate or sample surface to simulate different construction surfaces and observe the flow performance of the paint, such as whether it can smoothly fill the groove or flat surface and form a uniform film.
Applications
Coatings, paints, coatings and other surface materials levelling performance testing
Steps
1. Prepare Levelling Applicators and Paint Samples to be Tested.
2. Spreader the coating evenly on the test plate or sample surface.
3. Use the Levelling Applicator to scratch out 5 pairs of 10 coating marks of different depths.
4. Wait for the film drying.
5. Observe and measure the distance between each pair of membranes.
6. Select the minimum spacing Film thickness as the leveling test data.
Notice
• Please make sure the instrument is clean and drying before use to avoid affecting the test results.
• The force should be uniform when scraping to ensure the accurate depth of the coating marks.
• The test environment should meet the requirements of relevant standards to avoid interference from factors such as temperature and humidity.
• Please select the appropriate groove depth for testing according to the paint characteristics.
The instrument is made of stainless steel and should be cleaned and properly stored after use to prevent rust or damage.
