Overview
The Defelsko CHBLADE11X1 is a special cross-cut Adhesion Tester blade for coating adhesion testing according to ASTM D3359. The blade is made of hardened steel with 11 teeth spaced at 1mm and is designed to cut a standard lattice pattern on the coating to evaluate the coating's resistance to separation from the substrate. It is easy to replace and provides longer testing times.
The blade is one of the key components of the cross-cut Adhesion Tester. The tester is ergonomically designed as a whole, with a non-slip grip and a swirl/spin cutting head, ensuring comfortable operation, accurate positioning and even cutting pressure.

Principle
This blade is the core cutting component of the cross-cut Adhesion Tester. For testing, the blade is mounted on the tester to cut a parallel cross-lattice pattern at a specific pitch (1mm in this model) on the coating surface. The coating flaking in the cut area is then evaluated according to standard methods, such as the use of tape, to determine the coating's adhesion grade to the substrate.

Steps
1. Install the CHBLADE11X1 blade correctly onto the cross-cut Adhesion Tester.
2. According to the requirements of ASTM D3359 standard, apply pressure smoothly and evenly on the surface of the coating to be tested, and cut an 11x11 lattice pattern.
3. Use standard tape to stick to the cutting area and tear it off quickly.
4. According to the standard map, evaluate the flaking of the lattice area coating and determine the adhesion grade.

• Please select the appropriate blade model (number of teeth and spacing) and matching tape according to the test standard (ISO 2409 or ASTM D3359).
• Ensure uniform cutting pressure during operation to obtain accurate test results.
The blade is a consumable, when the cutting edge becomes dull, it should be replaced in time to ensure the cutting mass.
