Overview
The LANDTEK FM204-TR soil hardness gauge is a special instrument for testing soil Hardness. Compact soil can prevent the infiltration of water, reduce the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers, affect plant root growth, and even lead to reduced crop yields. Therefore, soil compactness is particularly important for guiding agricultural production, which can guide arable land methods and highway construction well.
Features
1. High Accuracy and high resolution.
2. Numbers show, ignoring the difference.
3. N (newton), kg (kilogram), lb (pound), g (gram) four measurement units are available for selection and conversion.
4. Peak hold function. Keep peak display until manually cleared.
5. Can be powered by alkaline battery; can also be connected to 5V DC power supply.
Principle
The instrument assesses soil Hardness by measuring soil compactness and helps guide agricultural production and engineering construction.
Applications
Roads, railways, reservoirs, dikes, dams, and civic buildings
Steps
1. Select the measurement unit (N, kg, lb, g).
2. Insert the instrument into the soil to the desired depth (0cm to 30cm).
3. Read and maintain the peak display.
4. Manual clearing for the next measurement.
Notice
Make sure to use a suitable power supply (2 AA batteries or 5V DC).
- The material to be tested is limited to various backfills, clays, sands and mixed soils after rolling.
- Test accuracy should be maintained at ≤ 0.25%.
