Overview
The Martindale Friction Tester is a device used to test the friction resistance performance of materials and can evaluate the Abrasion Resistance of Spinning & Weaving products, leather, rubber, coatings, plastics and other materials. The device simulates the abrasion of materials in daily use and is essential for quality control and performance evaluation.
Features
1. Drawing on the advantages of similar instruments at home and abroad, it is designed with a beautiful appearance and easy operation.
2. The microcomputer system uses two counting methods, which are intuitive and easy to set.
3. Eight stations are tested simultaneously to improve test efficiency.
4. Equipped with two Lissajous motion trajectories (24mm x 24mm, 60.5mm x 60.5mm) and a variety of supporting accessories, it can adapt to a variety of test method standards.
Principle
The Martindale friction testing machine applies friction force to the tested material through the friction head, the swirl/spin platform supports the material and simulates the friction movement, the load unit controls the pressure, the control system adjusts the friction, test time and speed and other parameters, and the data recording system records the friction, Coefficient of Friction and other indicators and performs data analytics.
Applications
Spinning & weaving, leather, rubber, coatings, plastics
Standards
GB/T4802.2、ASTM D4970、ISO12945-2、GB/T13775、ASTM D4966、ISO12947
Steps
1. Loading: Place the specimen on the holder.
2. Set parameters: set the number of tests, load and motion trajectory through the control system.
3. Start the test: run the testing machine, and the friction head is in contact with the sample for friction.
4. Data recording: The system automatically records data such as Friction, Coefficient of Friction, etc.
5. Analysis results: Evaluate the friction resistance performance of the material according to the recorded data.
Notice
• Power supply voltage is Ac220V 50Hz to avoid voltage instability affecting equipment operation.
• Check whether the grinding block and accessories are in good condition before use to prevent test errors.
• Ensure that the sample is flat and fixed when loading to avoid slippage affecting the test results.
• Regularly clean the equipment and keep the friction head and platform clean.
• Follow safety procedures during operation to avoid load overruns or improper use.
