Overview
BM-2WAJ Abbe refractometer is an instrument that can measure the refractive index nD and average dispersion nF-nC of transparent and translucent liquids or solids, mainly transparent liquids. If the instrument is connected to Thermostat, it can measure the refractive index nD at a temperature of 0 ° C to 70 ° C. The refractive index and average dispersion are one of the important Optical inspection constants of substances, which can be used to understand the Optical Properties, purity, concentration and dispersion of substances. This instrument can measure the percentage of sugar concentration in Sucrose solution (0~ 95%, equivalent to the refractive index of 1.333~ 1.531).
Features
1. Measurement range, refractive index nD Measurement range 1.3000~ 1.7000nD, sugar concentration Measurement range 0-95%.
2. High accuracy, nD Measurement accuracy +/- 0.0002nD, resolution 0.0005nD.
3. Graduation of sugar concentration minimum 0.25, accurate measurement.
4. Adopt metal anti-corrosive paint for strong durability.
5. Compact shape, size 100 * 200 * 240mm, light weight only 2.5kg.
Principle
The Abbe refractometer is based on the principle of refraction of light and characterizes its Optical inspection constant by measuring the refractive index of transparent or translucent substances to light. The determination of the refractive index nD and the average dispersion nF-nC can reflect the Optical Properties, purity, concentration and dispersion characteristics of substances. The instrument calculates the refractive index and related parameters by accurately measuring the refractive angle through the built-in Optical inspection system.
Applications
Chemistry, biology, food science, pharmacy, petroleum industry, oil industry, paint industry, food industry, daily chemical industry, sugar industry, geological survey, quality control, research laboratory
Steps
1. Prepare the sample to ensure it is a transparent or translucent liquid or solid.
2. Place the sample in the instrument measurement position.
3. Adjust the instrument Optical inspection system to align the measurement reference.
4. Read the refractive index nD and mean dispersion nF - nC values.
5. For measurement of sugar concentration, convert the percentage according to the refractive index.
6. Clean the instrument after use and keep the Optical inspection parts clean.
Notice
• The instrument should avoid severe vibration and high temperature environment to prevent damage to Optical inspection components.
• Make sure the sample is clean and free of bubbles or impurities before measurement, so as not to affect the accuracy.
• When using Thermostat, pay attention to the temperature control within the range of 0 ° C to 70 ° C.
• Regularly calibrate instruments to ensure measurement accuracy.
Store in a drying place to prevent corrosion of metal parts.
