Overview
The QXD-500 zirconia ceramic single-channe fineness meter is a standard laboratory instrument for evaluating particle fineness such as pigments, inks, paints, colorants, etc. The instrument consists of a scraper and drawdown blade for measurement by physical scraping and naked eye observation. It is designed to test heavy corrosion materials and is made of zirconia ceramics with a range of 0 to 500 μm.
Features
1. Using Zirconia Ceramic Material, High Hardness, Abrasion Resistance, Ensure Flat and Stable Measurement Surface, Improve Measurement Accuracy and Repeatability.
2. Zirconia Ceramic Chemical Stability, corrosion resistance, suitable for chemical sample measurement.
3. Zirconia ceramics have good high temperature Stability and are suitable for measurement under high temperature conditions.
4. Zirconia ceramics have good insulation performance and are suitable for electrical and electronic fields.
5. Specially designed for testing materials with high corrosion resistance, with a range of 0~ 500μm and a Graduation of 25μm.
Principle
The fineness meter works based on the principle of physical scraping. The instrument scraper is engraved with grooves of different shades. When in use, the test sample is scraped from the deep end of the groove to the shallow end with a drawdown blade to form a thin film. The particle fineness of the sample is evaluated by visually observing the position where the particles appear on the scraper.
Applications
Paint, paste, plastic, inks, paper
Standards
Meet the standard
Steps
1. Prepare samples to be tested (such as pigments, inks, paints, colorants, etc.).
2. Place the sample at the deep end of the scraper groove.
3. Using the matching drawdown blade, scrape the sample smoothly and quickly from the deep end of the groove to the shallow end.
4. Immediately (usually within a few seconds) at the appropriate ray of light angle, observe with the naked eye where the particles appear in the sample film on the scraper.
According to the scale (Graduation 25μm) next to the groove, read and record the corresponding fineness value.
Notice
• This instrument is designed for use in laboratory environments.
• Suitable for measuring materials with high corrosion resistance.
• The measurement results are based on naked eye observation, and the operator must have relevant experience.
• After use, the scraper and drawdown blade should be cleaned in time to avoid sample residue affecting the accuracy of subsequent measurement.
• When operating, ensure that the scraping action is smooth and fast to obtain reliable results.
• Please keep it safe to avoid the surface of the scraper being scratched or hit by hard objects to maintain its Smoothness.
