Overview
The XIONGFA XF-13173 apparent density (pb) instrument is a special equipment for testing the apparent density (pb) of powdered detergents. It uses the volumetric weighing method to determine the density of free-flowing powders. The instrument is suitable for the apparent density (pb) measurement of surfactants or washing powders and meets the requirements of relevant national standards.
Features
1. The whole funnel is made of stainless steel, the surface is smooth and does not generate static electricity
2. The funnel diameter is 40mm, the upper diameter is 108mm, and the height is 130mm, specially designed for free-flowing powders
3. Receiver volume 500ML +/- 0.5ML, sampling volume 510-550ML
4. Equipped with special brackets to ensure accurate positioning of funnels and receivers
5. The funnel outlet comes with a cut-off plate/baffle, which is convenient for powder placement and operation
Principle
Under specified conditions, the mass of the powder is determined after the sample is leaked from the funnel of the specified shape and filled with a receiving container of known volume. The apparent density (pb) value of the powder is calculated by calculating the formula density = (M2-M1)/V.
Applications
Surfactants, detergents, powdered detergents
Standards
GB/T 13173-2009、ISIO1064:1974
Steps
1. Put the funnel on the bracket and the weighed container on the lower floor
2. Cover the lower mouth of the funnel with a cut-off plate, pour the sample into the upper edge of the funnel, quickly remove the cut-off plate to let the powder flow into the collector
3. Use a stainless steel ruler to scrape the powder along the upper edge of the receiver, and then weigh m2 (Balance accuracy 0.01g)
4, according to the formula density = (M2-M1)/V to calculate the powder apparent density (pb)
Notice
• Only suitable for free-flowing powders, and can also be used for caking powders when using suitable funnels
• If the powder has agglomerates, it must be ensured that the agglomerates are easy to loosen and do not cause the particles to crush
The measurement result is the customary value related to the method used, which is different from the actual density of the product in the original container
Pouring into a measurement container will cause unavoidable compression, affecting the measurement results
