Overview
The HI729 Fluoride LR Tintometer is a photometer designed for the measurement of fluoride content in drinking water. It is designed to be small, convenient and accurate. Fluoride is a substance that has an important impact on human health in drinking water. It is beneficial to dental health in moderation, and harmful in excess. The World Health Organization recommends that the fluoride content in drinking water be between 0.5 and 1.0 ppm.
Features
1. Using LED Illuminant, compared with traditional tungsten lamps, it has better performance and higher luminous efficiency, uses less energy to provide stable Illuminant, and ignores its own heat to affect the electronic Stability.
2. Capable of CAL CheckTM, allowing performance verification and calibrating using NIST traceability standards, verifying reading accuracy by simulating specific Absorbance values with NIST Linear dispersion calibration sets.
Principle
The photometer is based on the SPADNS method for measurement, referring to the 18th edition of the Water and Wastewater Standard detection method, using an LED Illuminant to detect fluoride concentration at a wavelength of 575nm.
Applications
Drinking Water, Bottled Water, Household Water Filters
Standards
Water and wastewater standard detection method 18th edition, SPADNS method
Steps
1. Sample Handling with Optional Reagent HI729-26.
2. Use calibration group HI729-11 for instrument calibration.
3. Put the processed sample into a photometer for measurement.
4. Read and record fluoride concentration values.
Notice
• High fluoride concentrations may be harmful to health and require strict control of the Measurement range.
• The instrument will automatically shut down after ten minutes of inoperation to save energy.
• Measurement accuracy is regularly calibrated using NIST traceability standards.
• Measuring methods are based on SPADNS and follow standard operating procedures.
