Overview
The HI758 Calcium (Seawater) Tintometer is a professional instrument of the HANNA brand, which is specially used for the measurement of calcium Ion concentration in seawater. Calcium in water is mainly derived from limestone, dolomite, plaster and other sediments. The concentration range is from 0 to several hundred milligrams per liter. It is an essential element for animal and plant nutrition. However, if the concentration is too large, it will lead to pipe scaling, so it needs to be monitored frequently. The instrument detects calcium Ion concentration in seawater samples through Colorimetry, which has important application value in marine scientific research, water protection and ecosystem management.
Features
Measurement range 200 to 600 ppm, resolution 1 ppm
2. Zinc Reagent Measuring method
3. LED Illuminant @610 nm
4. The accuracy is +/- 6% of the reading
5. Automatic shutdown function (after ten minutes of no operation)
6. Complete basic configuration, including host, Reagent, Cuvette and manual
Principle
The HI758 Calcium (Seawater) Tintometer uses the principle of Optical inspection Colorimetry to determine the concentration of calcium ions by measuring the Color intensity produced by a specific chemical reaction in the sample solution. The instrument uses the Zinc Reagent method to detect the Color change of the solution after the reaction under the irradiation of a specific wavelength (610 nm) LED Illuminant, so as to accurately calculate the content of calcium ions in seawater.
Applications
Marine scientific research, water protection, marine ecosystem management, marine pollution monitoring, aquaculture management, calcium addition effect monitoring
Steps
Step 1 Prepare seawater samples
2. Add HI758-26 Reagent
3. Use HI731313H Glass Cuvette to hold samples
4. Place the Cuvette in the instrument measurement room
5. Read the calcium Ion concentration value on the display
6. Record measurement results
Notice
• Please read the instruction manual carefully before use
• Ensure Reagent is used within a valid period
• Cuvette needs to be cleaned before and after use
• Avoid direct light during measurement
• Regularly calibrate the instrument
• Keep the instrument dry and clean during storage
