The HI783 Marine Mg Checker HC uses the Beer-Lambert principle and uses a calcium Mg stone indicator to adapt to the Colorimetric EDTA method. The reaction between mg and Reagent causes the sample to appear blue to purple, and the mg concentration is determined by measurement of Color change.
