Overview
The HI96816 Glucose Degree Refractometer is a rugged, lightweight, waterproof refractometer from the HANNA brand for laboratory or field measurements. The instrument provides fast and accurate analysis of sugar content by using the formula potential wine accuracy (% V/V) = g/L sugar/16.83.
Features
1. Dual LCD display, temperature reading displayed below the measurement value
2. ATC automatic temperature compensation
3. BEPS low battery reminder to ensure accurate and effective reading
4. Waterproof design, suitable for laboratory and field measurement
5. Fast and accurate measurement, 1.5 seconds fast display measurement results
6. A little calibrated, with distillation or deionized water calibrated
7. Micro sample, only 2 drops of sample are required
8. Automatic shutdown, no automatic shutdown for three minutes
9. Stainless steel sample room, easy to clean and anti-corrosion
10. Easy to operate, just drop the sample button reading, simple and fast
Principle
The opticalin strument employs the measurement of the refractive index to determine parameters relevant to the wine industry. The actual measurement of the refractive index is simple and fast, providing vintners with a standard acceptable method for the analysis of sugar content. Samples are measured after a simple user brining with deionized water or distillation water. The instrument measures the refractive index of grapes in seconds, eliminating the uncertainty associated with mechanical refractometers.
Applications
Wine industry, laboratory, field measurement
Standards
Commission 2677/90 Methods of wine analysis
Steps
1. A little calibrating with distillation or deionized water
2. Add 2 drops of sample
3. Press the button to read the measurement result after about 1.5 seconds
Notice
• calibrated with distillation or deionized water
• Minimum sample size of 100 µL to fully cover the prism
• The instrument automatically shuts down after three minutes of use
• Ensure that the battery is fully charged to avoid low battery power affecting the accuracy of readings
• Keep the sample room clean to prevent corrosion
