Overview
The HI96832 Propylene Glycol Digital refractometer is a rugged, portable, water-resistant device that determines the volume percent and freezing point of propylene glycol solutions by measuring the refractive index. The instrument eliminates the uncertainty of mechanical refractometers and uses the internationally recognized ethylene glycol solution unit conversion and temperature compensation reference to complete measurements and convert to volume percent or solidification point units in seconds.
Features
1. Dual LCD display, temperature reading displayed below the measurement value
2. ATC automatic temperature compensation
3. BEPS low battery reminder to ensure accurate and effective reading
4. IP65 waterproof rating, suitable for laboratory and field measurement
5. Fast and accurate measurement, 1.5 seconds fast display measurement results
6. A little calibrated, with distillation or deionized water calibrated
7. Micro sample, only 2 drops of sample are required
8. Automatic shutdown, no automatic shutdown for three minutes
9. Stainless steel sample room, easy to clean and anti-corrosion
10. Easy to operate, just drop the sample button to read
11. ABS heat shrinkable plastic carrying case
Principle
Measurement principle of refractive index is used to determine the volume percentage and freezing point of propylene glycol solution by measuring its refractive index. Automatic temperature compensation is performed during measurement, and the refractive index and temperature are converted into internationally recognized Measurement units.
Applications
Propylene glycol solution concentration measurement, freezing point detection, industrial process control, laboratory analysis, field testing
Standards
CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 87th Edition
Steps
1. calibrate with distillation or deionized water
2. Add 2 drops of sample to the sample chamber
3. Press the measurement button to start measurement
4. Read the measurement results on the LCD display
Notice
• The calibrating must use distillation or deionized water
Sample volume of at least 100 µL is required to fully cover the prism
• The instrument has an automatic shutdown function, and it will not shut down automatically for three minutes.
• Pay attention to the battery level, there will be a reminder when the battery is low.
• Keep the sample room clean to prevent contamination from affecting Measurement accuracy
