Overview
The TQC levelling sag model VF2247 is a dual-function stainless steel film applicator for a simple comparative test of leveling and sag properties between post-construction and drying. One side is used to test leveling and can Spreader 5 film thicknesses; the other side is used to test sag properties and can Spreader 10 film thicknesses ranging from 75-300 microns.
Features
1. Dual function design, can test leveling and sagging at the same time
2. leveling test surface provides 5 kinds of film thickness Spreader
3. Sagging test surface provides 10 kinds of film thickness Spreaders, thickness range 75-300 microns
4. Made of stainless steel, resistant to acid and alkali and chemical elements
5. Equipped with combined stripes for evaluating measurement levels
Principle
The levelling sag forms films of different thicknesses on the Coating surface through grooves of different depths to test the levelling performance (expressed as the smoothness of the film) and sag performance (expressed as the downflow phenomenon of the vertical surface Coating) of the Coating during the drying process. One side is used to measure the leveling, and the flattening state of the film is compared by 5 film thicknesses; the other side is used to measure the sag property, and the critical thickness when sag occurs is determined by 10 film thicknesses.
Applications
Coating performance testing, paints mass evaluation, film Smoothness testing, sag defect analysis
Standards
ASTM D4400、ASTM D2801
Steps
1. Prepare Coating Samples for Testing
2. Select levelling test surface or sag test surface
3. Place the film applicator on the test substrate
4. Pull the film applicator evenly to form films of different thicknesses
5. Observe the levelling state and sag phenomenon of intermediate coating film during drying
6. Record the test results at each thickness
7. Comparison and evaluation with standard samples
Notice
• Make sure the film applicator is clean and drying before use
• Maintain a uniform pulling speed during testing
The test environment should meet the standard requirements
• Clean and maintain in time after use
• Avoid collision with sharp objects to avoid damage to the groove
