Overview
The LEEB DL Impact Device is an Optional accessory to the Leeb120 and Leeb140 Leeb hardness testers for the measurement of Hardness in steel and cast steel materials.
Features
1. Hardness measurement for slender narrow grooves or holes
2. Impact energy of 11mJ
3. Impact device weight, only 50g
4. The ball head is made of tungsten carbide material, Hardness up to 1600HV
5. The average surface asperity of the specimen is only 1.6 μm.
Principle
Impact DL type device by 11mJ of impact energy, using tungsten carbide ball Impact specimen surface, according to the ratio of rebound velocity and Impact velocity measurement hardness of materials.
Applications
Steel, cast steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, gray cast iron, ductile cast iron, cast aluminum alloy, copper zinc alloy, copper tin alloy (bronze), pure copper
Standards
Leeb hardness testing standard
Steps
1. Select a suitable specimen to ensure that the surface roughness is ≤ 1.6μm
2. Stable support for the specimen, weight > 5kg needs stable support, 2~ 5kg needs stable support, 0.05~ 2kg needs dense coupling
3. Ensure that the minimum thickness of the specimen is ≥ 5mm, and the minimum depth of the hardened layer is ≥ 0.8mm.
4. Measuring location of Impact Device
5. Impact measurement and read Hardness value
Notice
• The average surface asperity of the specimen shall not exceed 1.6 μm
• The minimum weight of the specimen must be greater than 5kg
• Specimens weighing 2~ 5kg need stable support
• Specimens weighing 0.05~ 2kg need to be tightly coupled
• The minimum test thickness of the specimen is 5mm
• Minimum depth of hardened layer should be ≥ 0.8mm
• Only for measurement of slender narrow grooves or holes
