Overview
The LEEB D + 15 Impact Device is an Optional accessory to the Leeb120 and Leeb140 Leeb hardness tester with an Impact Energy of 11mJ and a Ball Hardness of 1600HV. The device has a small and lengthened contact surface suitable for measurement of grooved or concave surfaces.
Features
1. Impact energy is 11mJ; 2. Hardness of the ball head up to 1600HV; 3. The diameter of the ball head is 3mm, using tungsten carbide material; 4. Impact device diameter 20mm, length 162mm, mass 80g; 5. The contact surface is small and lengthened, suitable for measurement of grooves or concave surfaces; 6. The maximum Hardness of the specimen can reach 940HV.
Principle
The Impact device makes the ball head Impact the surface of the specimen by releasing 11mJ of Impact energy, and measures Hardness according to the principle of rebound. The ball head is made of tungsten carbide with a Hardness of 1600HV to ensure Test accuracy.
Applications
Steel and cast steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, gray cast iron, ductile cast iron, cast aluminum alloy, copper zinc alloy, copper tin alloy (bronze), pure copper
Steps
1. Connect the Impact device to the Leeb120 or Leeb140 Leeb hardness tester; 2. Ensure that the average surface asperity of the specimen does not exceed 1.6 μm; 3. Support or couple according to the weight and thickness requirements of the specimen; 4. Align the measurement point for Impact test; 5. Record the Hardness value.
Notice
* The minimum weight of the specimen should be greater than 5kg; * The specimen should be stably supported (2~ 5kg) or tightly coupled (0.05~ 2kg); * The minimum test thickness of the specimen is 5mm; * The minimum depth of the hardened layer should be ≥ 0.8mm; * Ensure that the surface roughness of the specimen meets the requirements; * Only suitable for leeb120 and leeb140 hardness gauges.
