Overview
The TQC Benchtop viscosity cup VF2183 is a viscosity testing instrument made of titanium anodic oxidation aluminum material, in accordance with ISO 2431 international standards, with a filter diameter of 5mm, suitable for rapid viscosity and conformity assessment in the viscosity range of 91 to 326cSt. The product is designed for use with Newtonian or near newtonian fluids, with precision machining technology to ensure high accuracy and repeatability, smooth and easy to clean surface, and long service life.
Features
1. Titanium anodic oxidation aluminum material, durable and easy to clean
2. Conform to ISO 2431 international standards to ensure test accuracy
3. Filter diameter 5mm, designed for 91~ 326cSt viscosity range
4. Precision computerized machining, providing high Accuracy and repeatability
5. The filter nozzle part has a prominent design for easy operation
6. Smooth and bright surface, extending operating life
Principle
The TQC Benchtop viscosity cup works based on the principle of flow time of a fluid through a fixed diameter filter. When tested, the fluid flows out of the cup under gravity, and the conditional viscosity of the fluid is assessed by measuring the time (in seconds) from the start of flow to the appearance of the first breakpoint, or the time it takes to flow out of 50ml of fluid at a fixed Flow rate. Flow time is directly related to fluid viscosity, and longer times indicate higher viscosity.
Applications
Newtonian fluid testing, newtonian fluid testing, Coating viscosity testing, inks viscosity measurement, chemical product conformity assessment
Steps
1. Select the appropriate Benchtop viscosity cup (according to the outflow time requirements)
2. Ensure that the viscosity cup and test fluid reach the required experimental temperature
3. Confirm that the fluid is free of bubbles and debris
4. Hand sealing the outflow hole, fill it with fluid, scrape off the excess test solution to the edge groove, and place the receiving cup
5. Release the outflow hole and start timing, stop timing when the fluid appears at the first breakpoint, and record the time as the viscosity value
6. Fixed Flow rate test: the procedure is similar, but stops timing when 50 ml of fluid flows out
Notice
• Use a suitable fine brush and solvent to clean the viscosity cup, and avoid using cleaning methods and tools that may cause scratches
• It is recommended to buy at least one standard viscosity cup with calibrated certificate, draw a correction chart by comparing the measurement results, and correct the outflow time to obtain accurate test results
• Viscosity cup channel length is short, any channel change will significantly affect the outflow time, need careful maintenance
