Overview
The TRUIT TR 5120/K Pendulum hardness tester is an instrument designed according to GB/T 1730, ISO 1522 and ASTM D4366 standards. It adopts the principle of KÖnig pendulum, Persoz pendulum and double pendulum, and measures Hardness by the attenuation of the pendulum beam on the film surface. The interaction between the pendulum rod and the paint film depends on the film resilience and viscoelasticity. Different pendulum types cannot establish a universal relationship, and only one pendulum bar is allowed for measurement.
Features
1. Touchscreen control
2. Use electromagnet cissing pendulum
3. Can be suitable for test plates of different thicknesses from 0.1mm to 5.5mm
4. Data Recording with Two Laser Probes
5. Organic Glass door cover, reducing air circulation and convenient viewing
6. Freely switch between different test methods
Principle
The Pendulum hardness tester is based on the same principle of the KÖnig pendulum and the Persoz pendulum and double pendulum. When the pendulum comes into contact with the film surface, the attenuation rate of the pendulum radii is related to the softness and hardness of the film. The softer the film decays faster. The interaction between the pendulum and the paint film is complex and depends on the film resilience and viscoelasticity. Different pendulum types vary in size, swing period and swing.
Applications
Paints and varnishes
Standards
GB/T 1730、ISO 1522、ASTM D4366
Steps
1. Select and install the appropriate swing bar type
2. Place the test plate on the instrument to ensure that the thickness is within the range of 0.1mm to 5.5mm
3. Set test parameters through Touchscreen
4. Start the electromagnet cissing pendulum
5. Laser Probe Automatically Records Wobble Data
6. Test under controlled temperature and Humidity conditions to avoid the influence of airflow
7. Damping time measurement using only one swing bar type
Notice
On surfaces with low friction factors, the Persoz pendulum may slip, invalidating the results
· Tests should be carried out under controlled temperature and Humidity conditions to avoid the influence of airflow
Film thickness and substrate material may affect damping time
· Only one type of swing bar is allowed in measurement
The results of different swing bar types cannot establish a universal relationship
