DUBAN DB20-LX-P Pencil hardness tester (paints hardness gauge) is a professional instrument used to test film Hardness. Principle
The instrument is mechanical, with three points touching the tested surface (two points for the wheel and one point for the lead lead), always ensuring that the pencil and the test surface are at a 45 ° angle. Push the instrument by hand to slide, the pencil draws a track on the paint film, and by changing different pencils to draw different marks, the Hardness value of the film is determined.

Steps
1. Take out the horizontal pad, observe the horizontal indicator, make sure that the bubble is between the two marking lines, if not, re-adjust; 2. Put the horizontal pad under the instrument body, take out the prepared pencil (starting from the hardest lead), obliquely insert it into the 45-degree hole of the detection trolley, the extension length of the pencil lead just touches the measured surface, and tighten the fixing screw; 3. Use 1mm/s speed to advance, the pencil draws the line, loosen the fixing screw, the pencil swirl/spin 180 ° or re-grind and then draw; 4. Scribe 5 times in the same position, it is recommended that the length of the pen line be 6.5mm. After scribing, wipe the tested product with an eraser to check the Appearance and function; 5. Pencils are selected in 6H-5H-4H-3H-2H-H-HB-B-2B-3B-4B-5B-6B order. If the coating is scratched twice in 5 times, the softer pencil will be replaced until the pencil that is not scratched at least 4 times in 5 times is found. Hardness is coating Hardness.
Notice
- When sharpening the pencil, the shape of the lead must be a cylinder; - When loading the pencil, use an equilibrate pad to pad the front and lower ends of the trolley to avoid angle difference; - Push the trolley with too much force to avoid crushing the refill; - Loosen the fixing screw every time you test, twist the pencil to change the angle and then fix it; - Test in the order of decreasing Hardness, if you clarify the approximate Hardness of the sample, increase the two standards to start; - It is recommended to wear gloves to avoid rusting the instrument; - Test the appearance and function of the instrument before use to ensure that the sample is normal and the surface is smooth and flat.
