Principle
Hardness pen is applied by spring pressure, and the test head contacts the surface of the material to produce a Cedar, and the hardness of materials is evaluated according to the size or depth of the Cedar. The spring pressure range is divided into four specifications: 0~ 3N (blue mark), 0~ 10N (red mark), 0~ 20N (yellow mark) and 0~ 40N (white mark).

Steps
1. Select the appropriate range of test pens
2. Align the test head vertically with the tested surface
3. Apply pressure until the preset mark is reached
4. Observe and record the results
5. Evaluate Hardness according to Criteria

• Choose the appropriate spring pressure range according to the hardness of materials being tested
• Test head diameter is available in 0.5mm (optional), 0.75mm (std.) and 1.0mm (optional)
• Ensure that the test head is in vertical contact with the tested surface
• Regularly check the test head and spring status
• Color markers correspond to different pressure ranges
