Overview
The HI93719-01 is a photometer Reagent from the HANNA brand, designed for the measurement of mg Hardness. The Reagent pre-measurement allows users to achieve fast and accurate Colorimetric measurements for samples in the expected range of 0.00 to 2.00 mg/L mg Hardness and 0.00 to 4.70 mg/L Total Hardness, providing 100 tests.
Features
1. Pre-measurement of high-mass Reagents to ensure fast and accurate measurement
2. Provide 100 test times
3. Designed for mg Hardness measurement, range 0.00 to 2.00 mg/L (as CaCO3)
4. Adaptation of Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater Inspection, 18th Edition
5. Compatible with a variety of HANNA photometer models
Principle
This Reagent works based on the Colorimetry principle. The reaction between Mg and the calcite indicator results in the appearance of purple shades in the sample. The individual samples are treated with EDTA to chelate all calcium and mg present, and the individual samples are treated with EDTA to chelate any calcium present. Color differences between the two treated samples are determined by a compatible Benchtop or Portable photometer, and the concentration of mg is shown as Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) in milligrams per liter (ppm).
Applications
Water quality analysis, environment monitoring
Standards
Adaptation of Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater Inspection, 18th Edition
Steps
Step 1 Prepare samples
2. Treat the sample with EDTA to chelate calcium and mg
3. Reagent is added to give the sample a purple shade
4. Color difference measurement using a compatible photometer
5. Read mg Hardness concentration
