Overview
HuiNuo QGS paint film drying time tester is a special equipment used to measure the process of paints, coatings and other coatings changing from fluid layer to paint film. The instrument accurately judges the surface drying and actual drying time of paint film by simulating specific pressure conditions according to national standards, providing key data for coating performance evaluation.
Features
1. Core Nominal Mass Accuracy, 200 +/- 0.2 grams, to ensure the accuracy of test pressure.
2. The weight of the bottom area is 1 square centimeter, which meets the requirements of the specification.
3. Easy to operate, by observing whether the cotton ball leaves traces on the paint film under weight pressure to judge the drying state.
4. The matching requirements are clear, and users need to bring their own stopwatch, absorbentcottonph, sample and other auxiliary tools, and flexibly adapt to different test environments.
Principle
The measuring device works based on the principle of physical stress testing. During the test, a loose absorbentcottonph ball is placed on the surface of the paint film to be tested, and then the standard weight and the weight of the bottom area are gently placed on the cotton ball, and a constant pressure is applied. After a specified time (e.g. 30 seconds), remove the weight and cotton ball, and determine whether the paint film has reached the "actual drying" state (that is, the full thickness of the paint film has been conjunctivated) by observing whether there are traces of cotton wool left on the surface of the paint film.
Applications
Paints coatings drying performance testing, coating development and quality control, coating process evaluation
Steps
1. Preparation: Adjust the Nominal Mass to the requirement of 200 +/- 0.2 grams, and make the absorbentcottonph into a loose cotton ball of about 1 cubic centimeter. After preparing the sample according to the product standard and completing the surface drying determination, place the sample in the drying oven and dry according to the specified conditions.
2. Timed test: according to the actual drying time specified in the product standard, near the estimated drying time point, take out the sample from the drying oven for testing at regular intervals.
3. Apply pressure: place a cotton ball on the surface of the paint film to be tested, gently put the weight of the measuring device on the cotton ball, and start the stopwatch at the same time.
4. Observation and judgment: After letting the weight stand for 30 seconds, carefully remove the weight and cotton ball, and immediately check the surface of the paint film. If there are no traces of cotton balls left on the paint film, it is determined that the actual degree of drying has been reached.
Notice
• Nominal Mass must be precisely adjusted to within 200 +/- 0.2 grams to ensure the accuracy of test results.
• The absorbentcottonph ball should be kept loose, about 1 cubic centimeter, and should not be compacted.
• Sample preparation, surface drying determination and subsequent drying process must strictly follow the provisions of relevant product standards.
• Place the weight and cotton ball lightly to avoid extra scratches or pressure on the paint film that has not passed dry.
• Stopwatch, absorbentcottonph, Glass plate or metal plate, drying oven and other auxiliary equipment need to be prepared by the user according to the test requirements.
• When judging the result, carefully check whether the surface of the paint film remains very fine cotton wool fibers under good rays of light.
