The digital ultrasonic flaw detection (UFD) instrument works based on the principle of ultrasonic pulse reflection. The instrument generates high-frequency electrical pulses, which excite the Probe (transducer) to emit ultrasonic waves into the workpiece under test. When ultrasonic waves propagate inside the workpiece and encounter interfaces with different acoustic impedance (such as defects or the bottom surface of the workpiece), reflection occurs. The instrument receives and processes these reflection echo signals, amplifies, processes and displays the signals through full digitalization. The core processor performs high-speed calculation and analysis of the echo signal, realizes intelligent identification, positioning (level/depth/range), Basis Weight (equivalent calculation) and qualitative evaluation of defects, and finally presents the results clearly on the high-resolution color LCD screen.

1. Turn it on and check the battery level. 2. According to the workpiece to be inspected and the test criteria, select the appropriate Probe and connect it to the instrument (BNC or LEMO interface). 3. Enter the channel settings, select or call the preset flaw detection parameter channel, or use the auto calibration function to complete the calibration of Probe parameters (such as zero, K value) and material sound velocity. 4. Set basic parameters such as detection range and gain, and make or call DAC/AVG Linear dispersion as needed. 5. Apply a coupling agent to the surface of the workpiece and place the Probe in the detection area for scanning. 6. Observe the screen waveform and monitor the echo of a specific depth range through the gate settings. When a defective echo is found, the instrument can automatically perform positioning, Basis Weight and qualitative analysis. 7. Freeze the waveform, save the waveform picture with parameters, record the flaw detection process video or perform B-scan imagery as needed. 8. After the inspection is completed, the stored data can be transferred to the computer through the USB interface for further analysis or report generation.
