Product Overview
The DR9000A Coating Thickness Gauge is a portable, rechargeable, large-range coating thickness gauge launched by the Dongru brand, specifically designed for measuring thick coatings and the thickness of anti-corrosion and fire-resistant coatings. The instrument operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, in accordance with the GB/T4956-2003 standard, allowing for non-destructive measurement of non-magnetic coatings (such as paint, powder, spray coating, asphalt, galvanized layers, etc.) on magnetic metal substrates (such as steel and iron). It features a simple design for ease of use, portability, an extra-large LCD screen for clear readings, and high-quality imported metal probes. The gauge is characterized by fast testing speed and excellent performance.

Working principle
This instrument operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction for measurement. When the probe contacts the surface of the coating being measured, the electromagnetic field inside the instrument changes due to the presence of the magnetic metal substrate and the non-magnetic coating. By detecting the magnitude of this electromagnetic field variation, the instrument can accurately calculate the thickness of non-magnetic coatings (such as paint, powder, galvanized layers, etc.) applied to magnetic metal substrates (such as steel or iron).
Application Field
Coating industry, manufacturing industry, metal processing industry, chemical industry, commodity inspection, and other testing fields.
Complies with standards
GB/T4956-2003
Operating Steps
1. **Power-on Preparation**: Ensure the instrument has sufficient battery power. Select the appropriate measurement mode (continuous measurement or single-shot measurement) based on measurement requirements.
2. **Calibration**: Calibrate the instrument using the appropriate calibration method (zero-point calibration, two-point calibration, or multi-point calibration) according to the substrate and coating being measured.
3. **Start Measurement**: Press the instrument probe vertically and steadily onto the surface of the coating being measured. The instrument will automatically display the measurement value. In single-shot measurement mode, upper and lower limit alarms can be set, and a buzzer will sound during operation.
4. **Data Management**: Measurement data is automatically stored. Users can view, delete stored data, and perform group management via the instrument.
5. **Data Transfer**: Stored data can be synchronized and transmitted to a computer or other devices via USB communication or Bluetooth (customized feature).
6. **Power-off**: After use, the instrument can be manually turned off or left to automatically power off.
Precautions
• Before measurement, the instrument must be correctly calibrated according to the substrate and coating type to ensure measurement accuracy.
• During measurement, the probe must remain perpendicular and in close contact with the coating surface.
• The instrument probe is a precision component. Avoid impacts or scratches to maintain its sensitivity and accuracy.
• Do not use the instrument in environments with strong electromagnetic interference.
• Regularly check the instrument's battery level and recharge it promptly to ensure normal operation.
• During storage and transportation, avoid exposing the instrument to severe vibrations, high temperatures, or high humidity.
• This instrument is designed for ferrous substrates only and is suitable for measuring non-magnetic coatings on magnetic metal substrates. Do not use it for coating measurements on non-magnetic substrates (such as aluminum or copper).
• For custom features (e.g., Bluetooth), please refer to the actual product configuration.
