Product Overview
The AISRY Constant Temperature Tape Holding Force Tester (Customized) model NBC-5604-10B/01 is a specialized testing equipment designed and manufactured in accordance with standards such as GB 4851 (Test Method for Holding Power of Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Tapes) and the Adhesion Test Method for Adhesive Plasters. This device is suitable for conducting holding force tests on products like pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, self-adhesive labels, adhesive plasters, and hot-melt adhesives.
Product Features
1. Custom-designed for the adhesion retention testing of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, patches, and similar products.
2. Capable of conducting adhesion retention tests under constant temperature conditions according to preset temperatures.
3. Equipped with a timer to accurately record the time of specimen detachment.
4. Simple to operate, with clear and well-characterized test results.
Working principle
The working principle of this testing machine involves vertically suspending a test plate with an adhesive sample on a test frame, and hanging a specified weight at the lower end of the sample. The ability of the adhesive sample to resist pull-off is characterized by measuring the displacement of the sample after a certain period of time or recording the time required for the sample to completely detach.
Application areas
Pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, self-adhesive, adhesive plaster, hot melt adhesive
Complies with standards
GB 4851、JIS Z0237、ASTM D3654
Operating Procedures
1. **Sample Cutting**: After removing the outermost 3–5 layers of the adhesive tape, unwind it at a rate of approximately 300 mm/min. Cut samples 25 mm wide and about 100 mm long at intervals of around 200 mm, with no fewer than three samples per group.
2. **Cleaning Test Plates**: Repeatedly scrub the test plate and loading plate at least three times with a cleaning agent and gauze until clean. After cleaning, do not touch the working surfaces.
3. **Sample Pasting**: Under standard temperature and humidity conditions, paste the sample parallel to the center of the test plate and loading plate. Use a pressure roller to roll over the sample at approximately 300 mm/min (typically back and forth three times).
4. **Placement and Installation**: After pasting, allow the sample to stand under standard conditions for 20 minutes. Then, vertically fix the test plate onto the instrument and connect the loading plate and weights.
5. **Start Testing**: Place the instrument horizontally. Turn on the power, heating, and fan switches in sequence. Reset the timer. The instrument will automatically heat up to the set temperature and maintain it.
6. **Reading Results**: After the specified time, remove the weights. Use a graduated magnifying glass to measure the slippage displacement of the sample (accurate to 0.1 mm), or record the time until the sample falls off (≥1 hour in minutes, <1 hour in seconds).
Precautions
• Remove the outermost layer of tape before cutting the sample.
• The test plate and loading plate must be thoroughly cleaned, and after cleaning, their working surfaces should not be touched by hands or other objects.
• The sample attachment and rolling process should be conducted under standard temperature and humidity conditions, with strict control over the rolling speed and number of passes.
• After attaching the sample, allow it to rest under standard conditions for the specified duration.
• The instrument must be placed horizontally, and all switches should be turned on in sequence.
• Use a graduated magnifying glass when measuring displacement to ensure accuracy.
• When recording time, pay attention to unit conversion (use minutes for durations ≥1 hour and seconds for durations <1 hour).
