Product Overview
The DJ-6B Pulsed Electric Spark Leak Detector is a high-voltage instrument produced by Kedi Instruments, specifically designed to inspect the quality of metal anti-corrosion coatings. This device can detect coatings of varying thicknesses, such as glass-lined steel, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, epoxy coal tar, and rubber linings. When defects such as pinholes, bubbles, or cracks are present in the coating, the instrument emits a bright electric spark accompanied by audible and visual alarms. Powered by nickel batteries, it is particularly suitable for fieldwork environments.
Product Features
1. Specifically designed for detecting the quality of metal anti-corrosion coatings.
2. Capable of detecting various coatings, such as glass-lined coatings, fiberglass-reinforced plastics, epoxy coal tar, and rubber linings.
3. When coating defects (pinholes, bubbles, fissures, cracks) are detected, it emits a bright electric spark and provides audible and visual alarms.
4. Powered by nickel batteries, it is portable and particularly suitable for fieldwork.
Working Principle
This instrument is a high-voltage device that generates high-voltage pulses. When the probe moves over the coating surface, if the coating is intact, no current can pass through. However, if the coating contains defects such as pinholes, bubbles, or cracks, the high voltage will break down the air gaps or weak points at the defect sites, forming an electrical spark pathway. The instrument then triggers audible and visual alarms to indicate the location of the defects.
Application Areas
Chemical, petroleum, rubber, and enamel industries
