The working principle of an ultrasonic flaw detector is based on the propagation characteristics of ultrasonic waves in materials. The instrument generates high-frequency electrical pulses that drive the probe (transducer) to emit ultrasonic waves into the workpiece under inspection. When the ultrasonic waves encounter defects (such as cracks or pores) or interfaces within the workpiece, they undergo reflection, refraction, or scattering. The instrument receives these echo signals and converts them into electrical signals for processing and display. By analyzing information such as the position, amplitude, and shape of the echoes, the presence, location, size, and nature of defects can be determined.

1. Connect the probe to the instrument and power it on. 2. Based on the material of the workpiece being tested, use the one-key automatic calibration function or manually set the sound velocity, probe zero, K-value, and front edge. 3. Select or input the corresponding flaw detection standard, and set the flaw detection channel parameters (such as DAC/AVG curves). 4. Apply couplant on the surface of the workpiece and place the probe on the inspection area for scanning. 5. Observe the A-scan waveform displayed on the instrument screen. When a defect echo appears within the gate and triggers the audible and visual alarm, record information such as the defect's depth, horizontal position, and equivalent size. 6. You can freeze the screen waveform at any time for detailed analysis or save the current waveform and data. 7. After the inspection is completed, the stored data can be exported to a computer to generate a flaw detection report.
