Working Principle
This instrument uses ultrasonic measurement principles, emitting ultrasonic waves through a high-frequency precision single-crystal probe. The ultrasonic waves propagate through the concrete coating and reflect back to the probe. The processor measures the propagation time of the ultrasonic waves in the coating based on high-speed computation and a high-precision timing chip, and calculates the coating thickness using the known sound velocity. The instrument features an automatic calibration function to ensure measurement accuracy and stability.
Application Areas
Measurement of paint coating thickness on concrete surfaces, measurement of floor paint thickness
Operation Steps
1. Turn on the device and select the measurement mode (layered or total thickness).
2. Perform velocity calibration or select a built-in velocity setting.
3. Place the probe flat on the surface of the coating under test, applying appropriate pressure.
4. Observe the screen display and record the measurement results.
5. Save data as needed (can be stored in groups, with a maximum of 200 data points per group).
6. After completing the measurement, choose to power off manually or automatically.
Precautions
- Ensure the probe is in close contact with the coating surface before use to avoid gaps affecting measurement
- Perform regular sound velocity calibration to maintain measurement accuracy
- Avoid using the instrument in extreme temperature or humidity environments
- Group and manage data carefully during storage to prevent accidental deletion
- Choose manual or automatic shutdown based on user preference; when not in use for extended periods, manual shutdown is recommended to save battery
