Product Overview
The Yunda YD-YLD Canadian Freeness Tester is primarily used for measuring pulp freeness. It is suitable for determining experimental values in mechanical pulp production control and evaluating changes in the drainage behavior of various chemical pulps during beating and refining processes. The measurement results reflect the surface condition and swelling state of the fibers. Based on the Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF) testing method, this instrument measures the drainage performance of 1,000 mL of pulp water suspension at a specific concentration and temperature, with the CSF value expressed by the volume (mL) of water discharged from the side tube.
Product Features
1. Suitable for experimental values in the production control of mechanical pulp, and also widely applicable to the changes in drainage performance of various chemical pulps during beating and refining processes.
2. Reflects the surface condition and swelling behavior of fibers.
3. The drainage chamber is made of stainless steel, with a perforated stainless steel screen and an airtight sealed bottom cover at the base of the cylinder.
4. The top cover is sealed, and the bottom cover is connected with a hinge for easy operation.
5. The cylinder and drainage conical funnel are supported by an open bracket flange to reduce vibration.
6. A level can be used to adjust the levelness at the top of the measuring funnel.
7. 99% of the materials are made of 304 stainless steel, ensuring a long service life.
Working Principle
Freeness is an indicator for measuring the drainage performance of diluted pulp suspension (containing 3g of oven-dry pulp in 1L of water), i.e., the freeness or drainage rate. The test results reflect the surface condition and swelling state of the fibers. Canadian Standard Freeness refers to the drainage performance of a 1000mL pulp water suspension with a concentration of (0.3±0.0005)% and a temperature of 20°C, as measured by a Canadian Standard Freeness tester under specified conditions, with the CSF value expressed as the volume (mL) of water flowing out of the side tube.
Application Fields
Control of groundwood pulp production, beating and refining processes for chemical pulp.
Conforms to standards
TAPPI T227、ISO 5267/2、AS/NZ 1301、206s、BS 6035 part 2、CPPA C1、SCAN C21、QB/T1669-1992
Operation Steps
1. Fill the drainage chamber with 1000 mL of a slurry water suspension with a concentration of (0.3 ± 0.0005)% at a temperature of 20°C.
2. Close and seal the top cover, ensuring the bottom cover is closed.
3. Open the bottom cover and turn on the vent valve to allow the slurry to flow out.
4. The volume (mL) of water flowing out from the side tube of the measuring funnel is the CSF value.
Precautions
- The measurement results are related to test conditions such as slurry preparation, temperature, and water quality.
- When a large amount of microfibrils are generated during the slurry treatment process, an anomalously high freeness (false freeness) may occur, with values below 100 ml.
- The freeness value may not necessarily correlate with the drainage performance of the slurry on the paper machine wire.
