Overview
TQC VF2120 wide-channel Fineness Gauge is a stainless steel single-channe Grindometer with a large groove width produced by TQC in the Netherlands. It is made of Swiss 1.2805 tool steel and has high Abrasion Resistance and anti-corrosion. The Fineness Gauge has a smooth surface, easy maintenance, handheld operation, and an accuracy of +/- 2 microns. It is suitable for rapid determination of the fineness of pigments and other materials.
Features
1. Wide groove design, larger than the general single-channe Grindometer groove
2. Made of Swiss 1.2805 tool steel, Abrasion Resistance and corrosion resistance are better than ordinary stainless steel
3. High Accuracy up to +/- 2 microns
4. The surface is fine and smooth, easy to maintain
5. Handheld operation, easy to use
6. Graded slope design, supporting both micron and Hegemann parameters
Principle
Fineness detection based on the degree of dispersion of pigment particles in the fluid, by pouring the sample into the deep end of the groove, scraping the shallow end with a drawdown blade at an appropriate angle and a steady speed, observing the scale value corresponding to the position of the rough particles on the surface of the Fineness Gauge after scraping, Fast determination of pigment fineness.
Applications
Paints, Coatings, pigments, raw materials, plastics, Printing inks, chocolate, ceramics, paper, food
Standards
ASTM D1210、ASTM D1316、DIN 53203、DIN EN ISO NF21524、FTMS 141 a M.4411.1 ISO1524、NFT 30 046
Steps
1. Wash the wide-channel Grindometer and drawdown blade with the specified solvent and dry with cotton yarn
2. Mix the sample that meets the standard viscosity well with a blender
3. Drop a few drops of the sample into the deepest part of the Grindometer groove to fill the groove with a little excess
4. The double hand-held drawdown blade is placed horizontally on the upper end of the fineness meter, keeping it vertical, and pulling it from deep to shallow at a suitable speed
5. Immediately (no more than 5 seconds) pinch the fineness meter and tilt it at an angle of 15-30 degrees to observe the light, and read the scale value where the particles are evenly exposed
Notice
• Clean and dry the finer gauge and drawdown blade with solvent before use
• The sample needs to be fully stirred and meet the standard viscosity
• The amount of sample dropped should be slightly excess to fill the groove
• Keep the drawdown blade perpendicular to the surface of the fineness gauge when scraping
• The observation reading needs to be completed within 5 seconds after scraping
• When observing, the line of sight should be at an angle of 15-30 degrees to the groove plane
