Overview
The QBY-II swinging rod type paint film hardness gauge is an improved model of the QBY swinging rod type hardness gauge. Key Features include optimization of the horizontal mechanism, the scale can be moved horizontally for zero adjustment, and is equipped with a photoelectric counter for fast, accurate and labor-saving measurement. This instrument follows the GB/T1730-2007 design standard and is suitable for sampling tests of Paints, varnish and related products. It is specially used to determine paint film Hardness.
Features
1. The horizontal mechanism has been improved to make operation more convenient
2. The scale can be moved horizontally for zero adjustment
3. Equipped with photoelectric counter, fast and accurate measurement
4. Adopt electronic automatic counting method, counting range 0-999
5. Meet the requirements of GB/T1730-2007 national standards
Principle
The instrument works based on the principle of the interaction between the swinging rod and the coating surface. The swinging rod with a certain weight and shape touches the surface of the tested paint film. The softer the surface, the faster the swing of the swinging rod attenuates. Film Hardness is expressed by comparing the time or number of times the swinging rod swings on the standard Glass plate and the tested paint film within a specified angle range. The calculation formula is H = n/n0, where n is the time or number of times the swinging rod swings on the paint film and n0 is the time or number of times the swinging rod swings on the Glass plate.
Applications
Paints, varnishes and related products sampling
Steps
1. Adjust the corner screws to make the host level
2. Install the photoelectric head and fasten it in the U-shaped bracket slot behind the ruler
3. Place the swing rod and adjust the ruler to align with the zero point
4. Activate the swing rod push mechanism to place the swing rod in the 5 ° position
5. Turn on the counter power supply, adjust the swing rod and fine-tune the hammer to make the swing time on the standard Glass reach 440 +/- 6S
6. Coating Spreader on Test Glass
7. The film drying time to meet the product requirements
8. Ensure that the film thickness meets product standards
9. measurement of swing rod from 2 ° to 5 ° swing time and times
10. Calculate the film Hardness value, each test piece is measured three times to take the average value
11. Wipe Standard Glass Plate and Swing Bar Steel Ball with solvent before test
12. Regularly check the fulcrum ball and replace it if necessary
13. Test under 25 +/- 1 ℃, relative humidity 60%~ 70% vibration-free environment
Notice
Apply ether, ethanol or solvent gasoline to clean standard Glass plates and swing bar steel balls before testing
Wipe cloth should be clean to avoid scratching standard Glass plate
Fulcrum ball should be checked regularly, and the contact point can be changed when the surface is damaged
• Steel ball abrasion does not meet the requirements should be replaced with a new ball
• The test should be carried out at 25 +/- 1 ℃, relative humidity 60%~ 70% environment
• Close all small doors of the outer cover during the test to avoid the influence of airflow
• The surrounding environment should be free of vibration interference
• The difference between the two measurement results shall not be greater than 3% (seconds) or 5% (degrees)
