Overview
Folding tester is used to measure the folding fatigue strength of Tobacco flakes, papers with Film thickness less than 0.25mm and Tensile Strength greater than 1.33kN/m, and Cardboard and Miscellaneous sheet materials with Film thickness between 0.25mm and 1.40mm to assess the flexibility and elongation characteristics of the material. The specimen holding length is 140mm and the width is 15mm. The instrument tests the specimen at a folding angle of 135 ° at a double folding rate of 175 times per minute until the specimen breaks, and records the log value of the number of double folds.
Features
1. Driven by stepper motor, smooth transmission and low noise.
2.With 9.81N (1kg) weight, the spring tension can be calibrated at any time to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
3. Equipped with Chinese interface display, automatic test completion, automatic reset of chuck, with test data statistics, memory and printing functions.
4. Equipped with special calibrated weight, easy to verify and Measurement calibrate during the instrument.
Principle
The instrument clamps the sample on a specific fixture, and makes the folding head perform a double-folding motion of 135 ° left and right at a rate of 175 times/minute through the drive system. During the folding process, the sample is subjected to constant tension (adjustable by weight). The folding port applies repeated bending stress to the sample with a specific arc radius and width until the specimen is fatigue fractured. The instrument automatically records the log value of the number of double folds that lead to the fracture of the sample.
Applications
Tobacco sheet, specific paper (Film thickness < 0.25mm, Tensile Strength > 1.33kN/m), Cardboard (Film thickness 0.25~ 1.40mm), Miscellaneous sheet material
Standards
GB/T457、ISO5626、TAPPI T511、ASTM D2176
Steps
1. Select the appropriate folding chuck according to the sample Film thickness and install it.
2. Cut the specimen to the specified size (width 15mm) and hold it on the fixture with a clamping length of 140mm.
3. According to the test requirements, adjust the tension applied to the sample by adding weight.
4. Set the test parameters on the Chinese LCD screen.
5. Start the test, and the instrument automatically folds until the sample breaks.
6. After the test is completed, the instrument automatically records and displays (or prints) the logarithmic value of the number of double folds.
7. After the test, the chuck is automatically reset.
Notice
• The instrument power supply is AC220V +/- 22V 50Hz and should be reliably grounded.
• Before use, it is recommended to calibrate the spring tension with the included calibrated weight.
• When selecting a folding chuck, ensure that its specifications match the sample Film thickness range.
• Ensure that the arc radius, width and folding angle of the folding mouth meet the standard requirements.
• Regular maintenance to ensure instrument accuracy and service life.
