The IPRE PRCT210F Coating thickness gauge is a split measuring instrument using the magnetic thickness method for the measurement of film thickness of nonmagnetic coatings (e.g. paints, plastics, enamels, platings, etc.) on magnetic metal substrates (e.g. steel, iron). The instrument has data storage and statistical functions and is suitable for accurate measurement in the field and laboratory in a variety of industrial fields.

With data storage function, it can store up to 500 measurement values.
The instrument works based on the principle of magnetic Induction. When the Probe is close to the magnetic metal substrate, a closed magnetic loop will form between the Probe and the substrate. When there is a nonmagnetic overlay on the surface of the substrate, the Film thickness of the overlay will affect the magnetoresistance in the magnetic loop. The instrument can accurately calculate the Film thickness value of the nonmagnetic overlay by measuring the change of magnetoresistance through internal circuits and a unique temperature compensation algorithm.

According to the measurement requirements, select single measurement (SINGLE) or continuous measurement (CONTINUE) mode. 2, the split Probe vertical, smooth contact with the coating surface to be tested. 3. • This instrument is only suitable for measurement of nonmagnetic film thickness on magnetic metal substrates. • Make sure that the Probe is perpendicular to the coating surface and in smooth contact during measurement to obtain accurate readings. • The instrument has a minimum measurement surface (φ 7mm) and a minimum radius of curvature (convex surface 1.5mm), and the measured area must meet this condition. Film thickness should not be less than 0.5mm, otherwise it may affect the measurement accuracy. • Instrument Indication Error is related to the calibrating method, the one-point calibrating error is +/- (3% H + 1) μm, and the two-point calibrating error is +/- [( 1~ 3) % H + 1] μm, where H is the measured Film thickness value. • Please use the specified 3 AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries to power the instrument.
