Overview
The IPRE PRCT210N Coating thickness gauge is a split measuring instrument using eddy current thickness measurement principle, which is dedicated to the measurement of film thickness of nonconductive coatings on nonmagnetic metal substrates. The instrument has a unique temperature compensation algorithm, supports continuous and single measurement modes, and has built-in statistics and data storage functions.

Principle
The instrument works based on the eddy Current principle. When the Probe approaches the metal substrate under test, it will induce an eddy current in the substrate. The eddy current effect is affected by the film thickness of the nonconductive coating layer on the substrate. The instrument accurately calculates the film thickness of the covering layer by measuring this effect change.

Steps
1. According to the measurement requirements, select single measurement (SINGLE) or continuous measurement (CONTINUE) mode.
2. Place the split Probe on a clean and flat coating surface to be tested.
3, stable contact and read the measurement value.
4. The instrument automatically records data and can perform statistical calculations (e.g. average value, MAX Maximum, etc.).
5, the measurement data can be stored in the internal memory of the instrument.
Notice
• Make sure the tested surface is clean and flat before measurement.
• Ensure that the Probe is in stable contact with the surface to be tested to obtain accurate readings.
• The minimum measurement surface diameter of the instrument is φ 5mm, please ensure that the measurement area meets this requirement.
• When measuring a curved surface, the minimum radius of curvature of the convex surface is 3mm.
• Film thickness should not be less than 0.3mm.
• According to the accuracy requirements, you can choose one point calibrate or two point calibrate, please pay attention to the corresponding Indication Error range.
• Please use the specified 3 AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries to power the instrument.
