Overview
American RDS #80 film scraper is a stainless steel wire-wound scraper with a diameter of 12.7mm and a Spreader wet film thickness of 182.9μm. The product is made of stainless steel and has the characteristics of wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for film proofing in laboratories and measuring film hiding power. As an original imported product from the United States with 80 years of industry experience, its craftsmanship and quality are excellent.
Features
1. Imported from the United States, with 80 years of industry experience and reliable process quality.
2. Made of stainless steel, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, durable.
3. Wire-wound design, Spreader Film thickness is accurate, 182.9μm.
4. Spreader width up to 300mm, suitable for larger area film preparatory.
Principle
The film scraper is a wire-wound coating applicator. When used, the coating is placed on the substrate, and the coating surface is scraped at uniform pressure and speed by holding both ends of the scraper. The stainless steel wire wound on the scraper determines the wet film thickness (182.9 μm) left on the substrate after scraping, so as to prepare a coating sample with uniform Film thickness.
Applications
Laboratory film proofing, determination of film hiding power
Standards
No specific compliance criteria were mentioned in the data.
Steps
1. Prepare the substrate and coating for the Spreader.
2. Pour an appropriate amount of paint onto one end of the substrate.
3. Hold both ends of the scraper and place the wire-wound part of the scraper in front of the paint.
4. At a uniform and stable pressure and speed, the scraper is scraped across the paint to form a uniform wet-film on the substrate.
5. Clean the scraper for next use.
Notice
• Before use, make sure that the scraper is clean, drying and free of residue.
• Maintain uniform pressure and speed when scraping to ensure consistent film thickness.
• After use, the scraper should be cleaned with a suitable solvent in time to avoid coating curing.
• Please keep it properly to avoid the deformation of the wire-wound caused by bumping and affect the accuracy of the Spreader.
