Overview
The ANDE FORD Ford viscosity cup is an aluminum Benchtop Ford viscosity cup with a stand, designed for laboratory testing of the viscosity of coatings, paints and other fluids. The cup body has an inner diameter of 50.8 +/- 0.05mm, an outer diameter of 86 +/- 0.1mm, and a volume of 100ml.
Features
1. The material combination of aluminum alloy cup body and copper nozzle is used.
2. Equipped with a special bracket for easy Benchtop operation.
3. High accuracy of key dimensions, such as the diameter of the flow hole is 10mm, and the length of the flow hole is 10 +/- 0.1mm.
Principle
The viscosity cup is based on the Ford viscosity cup standard, and its viscosity is determined by the measurement of the time for a fixed volume (100ml) of fluid to completely flow out of the standard flow hole (diameter 10mm) under gravity. The longer the flow time, the higher the fluid viscosity.
Applications
Laboratory paint viscosity test, laboratory paints viscosity test
Steps
1. Place the Ford viscosity cup stably on the water platform through the bracket.
2. Plug the flow hole with your finger and pour the paint or paints sample into the cup until it is full.
3. Remove your finger and start the Timer at the same time, recording the time for the sample to flow continuously from the flow hole until the flow strand stops flowing for the first time.
4. Record the total time (seconds) required to flow 100 ml of sample, which is the test result.
Notice
* Make sure the cup body and flow hole are clean and drying before use.
* Keep the viscosity cup level when testing.
* Operating Ambient Temperature may affect test results and is recommended under standard conditions.
The nozzle is made of copper, so care should be taken to avoid contact with corrosive chemicals.
After the test is completed, the instrument should be cleaned promptly.
