Overview
The SHIBO QZP Checkerboard is used to measure the hiding power of coatings, and its technical conditions meet the requirements of GB1726-79 standard. The size of the product board is 100 × 250mm, the thickness of Glass is 1.2 to 2mm, and the surface pattern is composed of 32 black and white lattices of 25 × 25mm.
Features
1. Dedicated to Coating hiding power measurement, in line with national standards.
2. The board design is scientific and consists of 32 standard black and white grids, which is convenient for visual inspection and judgment.
3. Glass material, suitable thickness, flat and durable board.
Principle
The product provides a standardized black and white grid test surface. During the test, the Coating to be tested is evenly painted on the board surface until the black and white grid pattern under the board surface cannot be visually distinguished. The hiding power of the Coating can be calculated by measuring the weight difference of the Coating (including containers and brushes) before and after painting, combined with the brush area.
Applications
Coating hiding power measurement
Steps
1. Wipe the black and white check board clean.
2. Hold enough Coatings to be tested in a suitable container, and weigh the total weight (W1) with the brush Balance, accurate to 0.01g.
3. Coating evenly on the black and white check board with a brush, so that the grid can no longer be distinguished visually (recommended in the Color Assessment Cabinet).
4. Weigh the remaining Coatings together with the weight of the brush used (W2).
5. Accuracy requirements: The arithmetic average of the two measurements shall prevail, but the difference between the two Measured values shall not be greater than 5%. If it is greater than 5%, the data is invalid and needs to be re-tested.
Notice
• Brushing is required to be fast and even, and Coating should not be painted around the grid.
• When the coating to be tested is too viscous to be evenly painted, the sample can be diluted, but the amount of thinners should be deducted proportionally when calculating the hiding power.
