The NIRUN NDJ-5S Digital Viscometer is a microcomputer-controlled High Accuracy viscosity measurement instrument. It uses an LCD liquid crystal display with blue backlight to directly display viscosity, rotational speed, torque percentage and the maximum measurable viscosity value at the current Rotor speed. The measurement accuracy is +/- 1.0% of full scale, and it is suitable for viscosity testing of various fluids.

The Viscometer is based on the swirl/spin measurement principle. The instrument drives a stepper motor to drive the rotor to a uniform swirl/spin speed in the sample, and the rotor is subject to Tack resistance from the fluid. The instrument measures the torque required to maintain the uniform swirl/spin of the rotor (ie, the resistance moment). This torque is proportional to the viscosity of the fluid, and combined with the geometry and speed of the rotor, the viscosity value of the sample is calculated and directly displayed by the microcomputer control system.

1. Choose the appropriate rotor and speed combination according to the estimated viscosity value. 2. Install the rotor and pour the sample into a container with a capacity of about 400ml. 3. Turn on the instrument power and set the required speed through the control panel. 4. Slowly lift the instrument so that the rotor is immersed in the sample to the specified marking line. 5. Start the measurement, and after the display value is stable, read the viscosity value displayed on the LCD screen. 6. After the measurement is completed, turn off the instrument and clean the rotor.
