Overview
The SUOGUANG WYL-150A qualitative Basis Weight polarizing stress meter is an instrument that applies the principle of polarized light interference to check the stress or crystal birefringence effect in the transparent body of Glass. The instrument is equipped with incandescent light, sodium light and sensitive plate (full-wave plate). The 1/4-wave plate compensation method can not only measure the internal stress and distribution of Glass according to the interference color sequence in the polarization field or semi-Basis Weight measurement, but also accurately measure the internal stress value of Glass Basis Weight measurement.

Principle
Based on the principle of polarized light interference, the instrument detects the stress or crystal birefringence effect in the transparent body of Glass through the interference color sequence in the polarization field. Using the 1/4 wave plate compensation method and the equipped full wave plate, the stress measurement from qualitative to Basis Weight can be realized.

Steps
1. Turn on the instrument Illuminant (incandescent or sodium light)
2. Place the sample on the workbench
3. swirl/spin table to adjust the sample position
4. Observe the interference color sequence through the polarizer
5. Use 1/4 wave plate for compensation measurement
6. Read the optical path difference to calculate the stress value
