The SMART SENSOR AR850 + Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is an intelligent handheld device controlled by a microprocessor that uses ultrasonic Measurement principles to quickly, non-destructive and accurate measurement of the thickness and Speed of sound of a wide range of materials. It is suitable for accurate measurement of various materials or events in the industrial sector and monitors corrosion thinning of pipes and Pressure Vessels in production equipment.

Principle
Based on the ultrasonic Measurement principle, the instrument calculates the thickness of a material by emitting ultrasonic waves and receiving echoes reflected from the back of the material, using the characteristics of ultrasonic waves propagating at a constant speed in the material. It is suitable for any material where ultrasonic waves can propagate at a constant speed and the reflected waves from the back are resolvable.

Steps
1. Turn on the power supply of the instrument and check the battery power.
2. Select the appropriate Probe (room temperature or high temperature) and connect it
3. Measurement parameters, such as Speed of sound range (1000~ 9999m/s)
4. Contact the Probe to the surface of the tested material to ensure good coupling
5. Read the thickness measurement results on the LCD screen
6. Use the Data storage function to record measurement data
7. After the measurement is completed, turn off the power or use the automatic shutdown function
Notice
• The cast iron should not be used because of the coarse internal grains
• Probe contact temperature: room temperature type is 0~ 60 ° C, high temperature type is 0~ 250 ° C (high temperature coupler is required)
• The lower limit of pipe measurement is < unk > 10mm probe: < unk > 20 * 3mm (steel)
• Ambient Temperature 0-40 ℃, out of range may affect Measurement accuracy
• Regularly check the battery level to avoid low voltage affecting the operation
Make sure that the upper and lower surfaces of the material under test are parallel and are good conductors of ultrasound
