Textiles--Tests for colour fastness--Colour fastness to artificial weathering:Xenon arc fading lamp test

This standard specifies the method for determining the colour fastness to artificial weathering of various textiles, excluding loose fibers, by simulating complex outdoor conditions such as light, temperature, and humidity. The core of the test lies in the use of a xenon lamp test apparatus (also known as a xenon arc lamp weather fastness tester). This type of instrument can produce a full spectrum close to sunlight and precisely control key climatic parameters such as light irradiance, test chamber temperature, humidity, and spray cycles. After the specified exposure procedure, the colour fastness to artificial weathering of the textile is evaluated by comparing the colour change of the sample with that of blue wool standards or by rating it using grey scales.
